When you create an account, we collect your email address. If you list a sale, we also collect your sale’s address, photos, and any other details you provide. If you purchase a plan or add-on, Stripe processes your payment — we never store card numbers.
We also collect standard usage data: pages visited, searches run, listings saved or attended. This helps us improve the product and power the matching features that make The Pick useful.
We use your information to operate The Pick — to match you with sales, send alerts you asked for, and improve the platform. We use AI (Claude) to scan listing photos and buyer profiles to generate match recommendations. This processing happens on Anthropic’s servers under their data processing agreement with us.
We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not use it to build profiles for third parties.
We send transactional emails (account verification, receipts, payment alerts) that you cannot opt out of. We send behavioral emails (match alerts, calendar reminders, seller summaries) that you can turn off in your account settings. We send a general newsletter that you can unsubscribe from at any time without affecting product emails.
We use PostHog for analytics — session replay, usage funnels, and heatmaps. PostHog data is used to improve the product and is not shared externally. We use essential cookies for authentication only.
Sale addresses are not public until the seller’s chosen reveal time. Before reveal, only the city and approximate area are shown. After a sale ends, the address is removed from all public views permanently.
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal information and listings are removed within 30 days. Aggregated, anonymized analytics data may be retained longer.
You can access, correct, or delete your data at any time from your account settings. To request a full data export or permanent deletion, email us at support@findthepick.com. We’ll respond within 5 business days.
